A quarterly summary of the Supporters Trust

Over the last few months, the Supporters Trust have been busy organising events and doing what we do best – raising money to support the Player Pathway.

Here’s what we have been up to….
In February we hosted a virtual AGM and Question and Answer session.

We welcomed our new Chairperson Shirley Bradshaw after Pete Brady stepped down from the role. A huge thanks to Pete for all of his hard work and here’s to Shirley for taking over.

At the Q&A, we were joined by Paul Rowley, Ryan Brierley, Andy Ackers and Paul King. Loads of you joined us for the Q&A and some really interesting questions were asked. We hope you enjoyed hearing everything the guys had to say!
Secretary Phill Dunning presents Chairman Paul King with a cheque for £6,000.00 at the Q&A night which went towards the signing of the first 4 graduates from the REDS programme at the club.
In March we hosted another Q & A at the Dog and Partridge.  This was another really well attended event.  An auction was held as well as a raffle and £636 was raised.  Thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event. We got to hear from Brodie Croft, Sam Luckley and Shane Wright – Shane gave a great insight into what life living with Sam is all about and his education into the great British biscuit!!! We also got to talk to some of our fantastic ladies team – Megan Condliffe, Gabby Chaplin and Helena Walker.  It was fantastic to hear from the ladies about joining the club and their fantastic start to the season! Matt Carr also spoke about his new role at the club as a safeguarding officer and never one to pass the opportunity to get hold of the mic, Paul King also answered some questions and gave a brief update on club news.

Finally, to round the month off, we worked with the club to get the logo for the Supporters Trust onto the Men’s First team kit, we are really proud that the Trust logo is now on the player’s shorts.
Who doesn’t love a Quiz night??  Unless you’re on the team that wins the wooden spoon…
In April we hosted a quiz night at Salford Roosters.  A huge thanks to John Blackburn for being quiz master and keeping us all in check!

The event was once again really well attended – so much so that there was a panic that we had run out of chairs and tables!!  It was great to see so many teams there, including players from the men’s and women’s teams and the PDRL and LDRL teams.

We raised £662 on the night.

A big thanks to the Roosters for being such wonderful hosts – keeping the bar well stocked and for the supply of pasties and chips.  Solid choice of thinking food!!
