A message to our Salford Supporters Trust Membership, families and friends:

The times we find ourselves in are truly unprecedented and we wanted to reach out to all of our membership, their families and indeed everyone in our communities to offer a message of support so that you do not feel alone. As difficult as it is for all of us we must all abide by the Government guidelines around social distancing and only making those absolutely necessary journeys to buy essential food or medicine. It is hard for all of us to not to be with our loved ones that live apart from us but we hope that over time and when it is safe to do so the restrictions will ease.

We all share a passion for our club and it’s frustrating that Super League continues to be suspended but it is for the right reasons. The club is doing its best via social media to lift our spirits by showing clips of past games and of players at home which is all intended to give some cheer and we applaud the club for everything that it does to keep in touch with their fanbase. Sadly at this time the club is not enjoying the usual income streams it would expect during the season so gate receipts, match day half-time draw and any monies from hospitality have completely dried up so we wanted to remind our membership there other ways you can help.

We mentioned RDTV earlier and this fantastic initiative has given us all the chance to sign up to receive our ‘fix’ of Salford Red Devils, if you haven’t done so already why not sign up here (link) and take a trip down memory lane watching some fabulous games of rugby league. There is also the club’s squad builder which is a great way to support the club whilst receiving some exclusive benefits so read more about those benefits here (link). The club’s lottery is another way that you can help too and with some fantastic prizes every week/month this has proved to be real winner for fans (link) in recent weeks where many more fans have already taken advantage of the great value for money and for as little as £1 per week you have the chance win some great prizes.

As we set out at out at our AGM, your Supporters Trust’s prime function is to raise money to fund The Reserves and at some point that league will start again and our contributions towards the costs that the team incur will be required once more. We would encourage our membership to renew on their due date so that we can continue to have a steady income throughout the year until we can re-focus on those fund raising events that proved to be so popular but we now suspect we could be some way from organising them again. However James Hoskinson is doing an incredible job collecting Salford RLFC memorabilia donated from fans around the globe and selling it (link). Take a look and maybe you find something you have been looking for. Every penny goes towards the funding of The Reserve team.

It just leaves me to say thank you for your continued support for the Trust and if you can please help in any way you can to ensure Salford Red Devils comes out of this crisis in a stronger position to once again take on it’s rivals in Super League.

Keep safe and hopefully we’ll see you soon back at the AJ Bell
